Backup Outlook® PST files with PSTStation

PSTStation includes a useful feature to very easily backup complete PST files or only the selected folders marked as 'important'.

PSTStation backup jobs create target backup files, either locally or remotely. They let you control what folders, messages and attachments you want to save.

The backup PST files can be stored locally on the same computer or on a remote file server. By default, backups are incremental, meaning that only new and changed items are added to the archive file.

Using BackupMyFolder for PSTStation, you can mark all PST files in the important folders you want to archive, as well as choose to exclude attachments when you do the backup. This feature will help speed up the backup and decrease the size of your backup files.

PSTStation Desktop is specially designed for individual users in your organization. It processes all PST files included in the default Outlook® profile.

PSTStation Corporate is designed for organizations that need to manage an unlimited number of users PST files from a central point. Using PSTStation Corporate, you can select users' directories with PST files and run the job remotely.

With job control, you can create different user backup policies, each of them with different scheduling or custom settings.

Job results history displays all backup jobs results at a glance, with detailed error tracking and information on saved items.

Notes:

• BackupMyFolder for PSTStation is included with PSTStation Desktop version and is automatically installed.
• BackupMyFolder for Outlook® plugin is provided as a separate module with PSTStation Corporate version,. It can be installed for free on each user desktop to allow them to mark personal folders to be saved by PSTStation Corporate.

Outlook® PST file recovery and scanning

PSTStation recovery has been designed to recover Outlook® 97, 200x and 2007 PST files.

Based on our own improved algorithm (not scanpst), PSTStation recovery feature can recover up to 100% of a damaged PST file.

Process time on large PST files (larger than 1GB) has also been speed up and displays a useful estimated processing time at each step of the recovery.

Before repairing, you can scan and check your PST files. PSTStation will produce a report listing clean/damaged items. If the PST file is clean, the repair job is not activated.

Thanks to this scanning option, a Scan & Repair job can be run frequently, without any user action, ensuring a safe PST file every day.

You can also shrink and divide large repaired PST files into smaller files to prevent them to oversize beyond 1.7 GB.

Outlook® PST Unicode migration

PSTStation is a powerful tool to migrate PST files from the old format (Outlook® 97-2000) to the current Unicode format.

Even if you upgrade from Outlook® 2000/2002 to Outlook® 2003, your old PST files remain in 97-2000 format with a 2 GB limit.

With PSTStation, users can easily create jobs to migrate all PST files in the default profile into the new Unicode format and not worry about the 2 GB limit anymore.

New target PST files can be automatically replaced in the profile, saving users from wrong and complex actions on profiles.

Using PSTStation Corporate, small and large organizations can now organize the migration of their users PST files without any action from the user's desktop. Migration can be organized by groups of users with different schedules.

A detailed history view gives the administrators in charge of the migration a review of potential errors arising during the migration of a group of users.

Outlook® PST compression

PSTStation is a powerful tool to compress Outlook® 97, 200x and 2007 PST files.

PSTStation uses Outlook®’s native compaction system to insure complete integrity.

Before compression, you can automatically emptying the "Deleted items" folder.

Many actions are programmable, each one is activated transparently for the user, whether Outlook® is open or not.

PSTStation differences between Desktop and Corporate versions

PSTStation Desktop is dedicated to individual users who want a simple product to repair, backup Outlook® data or migrate to Unicode. This version is usually installed on a workstation and processes all PST files of the default profile of the user.
(except for the Repair feature for which user selects damaged PST files directly on their disk).

PSTStation Corporate is designed to manage groups of PST files, either on a local computer or remotely through the network. This version is especially dedicated to email or desktop administrators who want to simplify user's Outlook® data file management.

Both versions include scheduling and history logs.
